CAD Technician
As a CAD Technician, you will play a vital role in converting survey data into accurate and precise computer-aided design (CAD) drawings and models. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the surveying team in producing high-quality deliverables while adhering to project specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Convert survey data: transform field survey data, including measurements, maps, and plans, into CAD drawings and models
- Draft accurate drawings: Prepare detailed and precise CAD drawings of topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and construction plans based on survey data.
- Maintain data integrity: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of CAD drawings by verifying and cross-referencing survey data, project requirements, and relevant standards.
- Stay updated with industry standards: Keep abreast of the latest CAD software advancements, techniques, and industry best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality in CAD drafting processes.
- Review and quality control: Conduct thorough reviews of CAD drawings to identify errors, discrepancies, or inconsistencies, and rectify them promptly to ensure the highest level of accuracy and quality.
- Collaborate with surveying team: Work closely with land surveyors and engineers to understand project objectives, provide technical support, and incorporate changes or revisions into CAD drawings as required.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in CAD software, preferably MicroStation, TopoDOT, Civil 3D
- Technical aptitude: Strong understanding of surveying principles, terminology, and procedures to effectively interpret and translate survey data into CAD drawings.
- Attention to detail: Meticulous and thorough approach to work, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify and rectify errors in CAD drawings.
- Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and other team members, and to clearly convey technical information.
- Time management: Efficient organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Degree or certification: A degree or certification in CAD drafting, engineering, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience in land surveying and CAD drafting will also be considered.
Field Operations
In the field you will embark on exciting assignments, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment such as theodolites or drones. Take to the skies as you operate drones to capture aerial imagery and obtain high-resolution data, revolutionizing the way we conduct surveys.
Land Surveyor
.As a Field Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting field surveys, collecting accurate measurements, and gathering essential data for various land surveying projects. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the successful completion of surveys, the establishment of property boundaries, and the generation of precise survey deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct field surveys: Utilize advanced surveying instruments, including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors, to accurately measure and record data related to land boundaries, topography, and infrastructure features.
- Establish survey control points: Set up and verify survey control points using precise measurement techniques, ensuring accurate reference points for subsequent surveys and project alignment.
- Boundary identification: Assist in the identification and marking of property boundaries by interpreting legal documents, deeds, and historical records, resolving boundary disputes, and providing accurate survey data to support legal cases if required.
- Perform topographic surveys: Conduct topographic surveys to record the natural and man-made features of a site, including contours, elevations, utilities, structures, and other relevant elements.
- Maintain equipment: Regularly calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot surveying instruments and equipment to ensure their accuracy and reliability during field surveys.
- Documentation and reporting: Document field observations, measurements, and survey records accurately and comprehensively, and assist in the preparation of survey reports, drawings, and other project-related documentation.
Requirements:
- Surveying knowledge: Proficiency in conducting boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction surveys, and other field surveying tasks.
- Familiarity with survey instruments: Experience in operating and maintaining surveying instruments, such as total stations, levels, GPS receivers, and data collectors.
- Attention to detail: Keen observation skills and meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate data collection, measurements, and record keeping.
- Physical stamina: Ability to work in various outdoor conditions, including rugged terrain, adverse weather conditions, and physically demanding situations.
- Communication and teamwork: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, convey information accurately, and coordinate survey activities efficiently.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements, travel to different job sites, and work flexible hours as needed.
- Valid driver’s license: Possession of a valid driver’s license is often required to travel to various project sites. Additionally, drone license: Possession of a valid drone pilot license (Part 107 or equivalent) is highly desirable.
